Locally grown foods from Greenbrier, Monroe, and Pocahontas Counties plus some meats, baked goods, homemade noodles, breads, milk, and more. From July to November at the Picnic Shelter at the Williamsburg Community Building.  This market will feature in-season fruits and vegetables as well as some meats, baked goods, homemade noodles, breads, milk, and more.  This is a grant-funded program called "Off the Beetin' Trail" and is designed for communities who are "food deserts" (i.e. those with limited access to stores selling fresh foods).  (NOTE: You will be asked to fill out a questionnaire about food access, health conditions, etc. at the market.  THIS CAN BE ANONYMOUS SO DON'T LET THAT KEEP YOU FROM COMING.  Researchers want to understand how difficult it is and/or what barriers there are in terms of getting healthy foods to rural areas).  The market will accept cash, debit cards, SNAP (food stamps), and senior coupons.  Double and triple SNAP are available for vegetable purchases.  The offerings will be different each week depending on what's available and in season.  The market organizer is Mary Surbaugh, and she will try to let us know each week what some of the offerings are, which will be posted as possible on Facebook.    Many people have indicated they are interested in participating, but if the mobile market is not well supported here, they will move onto another area.  This could be a great opportunity for our community!  Please feel free to share.
