Williamsburg WV Community Appreciation
Kudos To You!
New Floor Treatment For The Community Building
The previously sad-and-drab bare concrete floor now shines with a “terrific tan” two-part epoxy coating, with colored chips under the smooth surface adding interest. This major improvement brightens our lives, plus it is much easier to clean. Materials and labor were provided by a Greenbrier County Arts And Recreation Grant, awarded to our always-busy Williamsburg Community Action Group. A huge thank-you to Greenbrier County for supporting our community, and to our Community Action volunteers!
Thank You to Everyone who helped make the 4/27/2019 revival of the Williamsburg Bear Dinner a success.

Creative Spirits Lifted
Painters of all levels enjoyed a creative afternoon with tips and guidance from Sandra Schmocker. Everyone took home their completed work, improved skills, and happy memories . Many thanks to our instructor, the Greenbrier County Health Alliance Grant, and our community volunteers for making it all happen. 4/7/2019

Thrift Shop Donates $500 To The Food Pantry
The Williamsburg Food Pantry provides monthly non-perishable box deliveries to more than 70 enrolled households, plus weekly perishable food giveaways to anyone and everyone who shows up. Every month, and every week, holidays included, our Food Pantry lovingly improves food security for our community. Many thanks to the Thrift Shop (maintained by the Andrew Chapel United Methodist Church) and all others who donate time and resources to support the Food Pantry. Williamsburg Ruritan Club honors Rick Winfrey as a 2019 Community Champion
Rick Winfrey is a lifetime resident of Williamsburg. He and his wife Shirley, of 35 years, have raised two sons, Chris and Matthew and have three grandchildren, Lucious, Zaidon and Rose Marie.
Rick has been with fire and rescue for many years. He started with being a Junior member in 1974 and has been active since 1975. He worked in the coal mines and Jan-Care until recently and he now brings his talents to help the Williamsburg Fire Department more than ever, stepping up to be our Fire Chief.
Among the many contributions to our town, he has been working with others to reset and clean up the local cemeteries and working with the fire department to have the first annual Pig Pickin Bluegrass Festival fundraiser and he is also an active member in Andrew Chapel United Methodist Church. 1/7/2019

Community Building Parking Area Paved November 2018.
Initial funding for this $24,000 capital improvement was provided by a Seneca Trail Charitable Foundation Grant to the Williamsburg Community Action Group. The WCA applied additional funds received from a Modern Woodmen of America Grant and private donations to extend the paving area all the way to the road. The Williamsburg Ruritan Club donated the final $4,000 funding gap. This paved parking surface is a tremendous help for our many residents and visitors who use canes, walkers, and wheelchairs or otherwise have difficulty traversing gravel surfaces. Many thanks to our generous benefactors, with a special acknowledgement to Jack Goodman who envisioned and spearheaded this project!
Bluegrass Is Back!
The Williamsburg Volunteer Fire Deparment hosted their first annual Pig Pickin Bluegrass Festival fundraiser on the most perfect autumn evening imaginable. Three notable bands played from early evening through late darkness, inspiring some to dance and others to kick back in their portable loungers and enjoy. The food was great and the music awesome! Thank you WVFD!
