The 2021 Williamsburg Playground Renovation Project
has provided a larger play area next to the Community Building. We have some new equipment, fresh coatings and repairs on older equipment,
new curbs, and fresh chips on the ground with weed barrier. Funding was provided by a grant awarded to the Williamsburg Community Action Group by the Greenbrier County Arts And Recreation Grant Program. The Williamsburg Thrift Shop and the Williamsburg Ruritans pitched in with additional funds as the project expanded beyond the original design. WV Paving showed up with heavy equipment to remove old ground coverings and smooth the area. Local volunteers donated many, many hours of brains and brawn for planning, grant application, ordering, receiving, and hard labor. A huge THANK YOU to everyone who helped create a fun and safe play area for our little ones. Jo Long coordinated this project with muscle power from Danny Driggers, Ellen Driggers, Lee Gallion, Rodger Hedrick, and Bill Zumpfe. 6/2021
