School Renovation Project Launched

For Community and Commerce

New and exciting things are happening in Williamsburg with your help.  WCA launches renovation project for former school — fundraising and preparation efforts start now with phased project plan to follow concept. Williamsburg Community Action Group (WCA) has received a Brownfield Redevelopment Plan from re-use planner Stantec, coordinated through WV Department of Environmental Protection. After receiving the final presentation and report from StanTec at the end of March 2025, WCA took community input on the final report and voted on the path of action for the former school.  WCA has voted to renovate showshow

New Roof

For the kitchen and bathrooms

With much appreciation and gratitude, Williamsburg received a grant from Seneca Trail Charitable Foundation to replace a section of our Community Building roof that had increasing rain leaks over several years.  We now have a beautiful brand‑new high quality standing seam metal roof with an expected 50‑year life.  This section of roof spans the area between the original Community Building and the Fire Station, covering space for the kitchen and bathrooms.

It is a tremendous relief to have a long-term resolution to this major problem.  A tremendous thank you to the Seneca Trail Charitable Foundation for their generosity and to the Williamsburg Community Action Group members that wrote grant applications and guided this project.

Next up is replacing the damaged ceiling under the new roof!

Carnegie Hall Teachers Needed

2025 Summer Program

Teachers are needed for the Kids’ College summer program at Carnegie Hall. Currently looking for Instructors for Clay Classes, Tie-dye, Slime Lab and PineCar Derby.  Don’t know how to do any of these- no problem!  We’ll teach you AND pay you!  Great pay and flexible schedule but must be able to commit to a full week, either mornings (9-12:30) or afternoons (1-4) or both, July 7-11 or 14-18, or both.  Have a different class idea you want to pitch- just call!  Carnegie Hall Education Director Harmony Flora 304‑645‑7917 x116.  Carnegie Hall WV

Our Community Emergency Shelter

is the Williamsburg Community Building equiped with a backup generator and commercial kitchen to provide shelter, water, food, and communications.  In times of need, the Williamsburg Area Emergency Response Team (lovingly called "WARTS") coordinates this service.  For information contact show

ACP Affordable Connectivity Program

(Internet Connection Assistance)

Provides a discount of up to $30 per month toward internet service for eligible households and up to $75 per month for households on qualifying Tribal lands.  Eligible households can also receive a one-time discount of up to $100 to purchase a laptop, desktop computer, or tablet from participating providers .... 4th Saturday Each Month 10:00 am for senior citizens and low income residents at the Williamsburg Community Building, 304-392-5537.

The Williamsburg Community Action Group (WCA) maintains and schedules events for the Williamsburg Community Building and the old Williamsburg Elementary School.  We are a West Virginia nonprofit corporation powered by volunteers.  Fundraising includes community dinners, events, grant applications, building rentals, and donations. • Tax deductible donations are also welcomed online via Charity Navigator.  Voting members are show

WVFD Williamsburg Volunteer Fire Department welcomes volunteers as firefighters and admin support.  Business meetings are on 1st Thursdays at 7:00 pm, all other weeks meet on Thursdays at 7:00 pm for training and maintenance.  Contact Chief Rick Winfrey 304-667-8042.

Shooting Matches are held in the evenings, usually on the first and third Saturdays of winter months with a few exceptions.  Shoot from indoors, 12-gauge shotguns only, rules apply.  Hot food concession, family friendly, easy parking.  Dates and details will be posted in the community calendar section and published in local newspapers.  Sponsored by the Ruritans and WCA.
